Watch this webinar to discover how you can identify a wide range of environmental and pathogenic microbes in-house, with instruments to suit any throughput
Systems for streamlined microbial identification
Need to ID a microbe for environmental monitoring, product development or QC, pathogen detection, scientific research, or another application?
With Biolog's suite of phenotypic identification solutions—including fit-for-purpose test panels, automated instruments, and user-friendly analysis software—you can rapidly and accurately identify aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, yeast, and fungi, at any level of throughput you need in your lab.
Straightforward, quick workflow
Biolog test panels are designed for the phenotypic identification of nearly 3,000 species of microbes, with a range of different microbiologically relevant substrates and inhibitors. When inoculated and grown on the plate, each species generates a distinct metabolic fingerprint based on its ability to metabolize specific substrates, or its sensitivity to specific inhibitors. An algorithm searches the comprehensive database to find the best match.

The Odin and ID Station instruments offer automation capabilities that makes it easy to go from sample input to generation and export of the final report. Load up to 50 plates on Odin L, 8 plates on Odin VIII, or 1 plate on the ID Station – then walk away and come back to an accurate organism ID.
